Born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, Jhon Rodriguez has been professionally tattooing for over 20 years. In Bogota he owned one of the first and definitely the most successful shops. At his shop called The Zone Colors he honed his style over the years, creating characters the world had never seen before called “Chyrlos”. Jhon has been called a “Tattoo Wizard” on several occasions because of his ability to create on the spot and tattoo quickly, cleanly and finish large scale pieces in less sessions than most tattooers.

Having moved to the United States 10 years ago, he first arrived in Vermont. After one winter he left, with his family to live for the next six years in Miami Florida. In Miami he owned a shop in the heart of the art district, Wynwood, where he continued to make the world more beautiful one tattoo at a time.

Life has a way of happening and after the birth of their daughter, the Rodriguez family decided to move back to Vermont to raise her in a more child friendly environment.

In October of 2023, Jhon and his wife Jodi, hosted Vermont’s first ever tattoo convention, the Rail City Tattoo Convention. Held in the historic City Hall building over 1500 people came and enjoyed the atmosphere and got tattooed that Saturday and Sunday. Planning for next year has already started!

He enjoys all forms of tattooing, but especially animal tattoos and Japanese inspired designs.
